Support Disabled Children on Nov 14
Humble Appeal to Make Children's Day Inclusive
Let's join to show solidarity for children with social disabilities as well as for all disabled children facing social ostracism.
-
Keep your social media profile picture upside down
-
You could also blur out the picture or use any image to support disability
-
Add status/message of your choice to support disability and spread awareness
Hope: The upside-down image is simple to achieve and tellingly represents the twisted environment experienced by any disabled child. It also symbolizes disability as a strength that enables a different world view.
Spreading awareness on social disabilities will work to promote acceptance and create an environment where the disabled are part of the mainstream, and come to belong here, rather than remain confined to the fringes.
It is a humble beginning to create awareness and encourage conversations aimed to create mechanisms that will educate normal children to accept, interact and empower their disabled friends as equal counterparts.
